The kawempe south legislator Hajj Kazibwe Bashir has launched his food distribution exercise dubbed “Mbayirawo omubiri reloaded ” in Mukalazi zone with an aim of helping those in need.
Bashir distributed food worth 10 tonnes to his people.
In the food distribution process, chaos ensued as people scrambled and fought for the food each getting as much as they can some getting away with minor bruises.
The weak who were not able to fight pleaded for government intervention to help give them money promised by president Museveni.
Bashir said that he did this due to the horrible situation his people face and because kawempe is also one of the most affect ted areas due to covid19.
“Kawempe is one of the most affected constituencies. The situation may not have reached your area but over 10,000 died of covid in kawempe. Government said it will help it’s people but we shall take time before seeing the money”. He said.
Kawempe is said to jot have given its list of vulnerable people to the ministry to consider them to be given money which is a relief fund from the covid pandemic
