Bebe cool, a long time music rival with fellow artist Bobi Wine has responded to his fellow musician’s post that criticised those who paid General Salim Saleh a visit in Gulu led by Dr. Jose Chameleon.
Bobi wine in his post related the Museveni regime to that of Joseph Stalin, a soviet “dictator” in the 19th century. Alluding to the story of the chicken whose feathers are plucked off but although in pain, the chicken still follows it’s master just because it is provided with corn, bobi said that that’s exactly what the government is doing – making its people suffer just for a little hand out and asked artists not to get used in the process.
Bobi in his post reminded the artists of the oppressive environment the government put then through such as refusal to hold concerts even before the pandemic happened, submitting lyrics to the Ministry of Gender for approval and also seeking permission to perform outside the country.
Bobi Went on and said that it’s in times like these that artists need to show thier use by acting as a voice to the voiceless.
“Many of our people are dropping dead because of starvation. It is in such times that artists should rise to the occasion and speak on behalf of millions of thier fans whose voices have been suppressed and locked down”. Bobi said

Bebe cool , not so long after Bobi’s post also went to his social media page to give his side of the matter.
Firstly Bebe cool made it clear that although Saleh is a brother to the president and also serves as the chief Coordinator Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), the person the artists went to meet was not the president’s brother but the chief coordinator of (OWC).
Bebe went ahead to clarify that Ugandan musicians are also part of the creative arts sector although about 80% of the stakeholders live below the money economy.
The need to meet the general, he said, was to discuss challenges in the industry and also lobby for funds “which have always been channelled through UNCC/F”.
“I therefore want to correct my young brother Bobi Wine on his ignorant post that whatever funds artists get from the General are not hand outs but rather an entitled financial relief”. The post read.
Bebe cool lashed out to the former legislator for not fighting for fellow artists while still a memeber of parliament.
“Our brother was once in parliament but never presented a single private member’s bill on the creative arts industry in parliament”. The post reflected.
Bebe cool advised on the need to end politicking since the elections are done and find a solution to the problems facing the country.
“Time for politicking ended on 14th January. Ugandans need tangible solutions to thier day ro day problems”. He concluded in the post.
