After imposing Human rights related sanctions against Chinese individuals and entities on China last Friday, The Chinese Government have warned of “sticking back” urging Washington to withdraw the sanctions.
The China Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Wang wenbin said that if the sanctions were are not loosened, China would also act accordingly.
“if the US acts recklessly, China will take effective measures to strike back resolutely” he said on Monday.
Wang also defended China’s policy in dealing with the Muslim Uighur community in autonomous region saying it is aimed at combating violence, terrorism, separatism and religious extremist forces.
The Chinese artificial intelligence company Sensetime, was accused by the US Treasury for sanctions for having developed facial recognition programmes that can determine a target’s ethnicity, with particular focus on identifying ethenic Uighurs.
Sir Geoffrey Nice, the head of the Uighur Tribunal said that the chaina Government has targeted them with intentions of reducing their population through forced birth control and sterilisation policies.
