Phiona Nyamutooro, a Member of Parliament and minister, has always been private about her personal life. Her father recently shared with the public the identity of her first boyfriend, musician Eddy Kenzo.
Nyamutooro’s father mentioned that his daughter had been quite secretive and rarely discussed her relationships with her parents. It was only last year that she confided in him about seeing someone who intended to marry her and make her happy.
“When she told us she was in love with Eddy Kenzo, we fully supported her decision,” her father said. “As a family, we didn’t have anything negative to say. We wanted her to feel confident and happy with her choice.”
He further revealed that Eddy Kenzo was the first boyfriend Nyamutooro had ever introduced to the family, and he was pleased that their relationship culminated in marriage.
“Nyamutooro was never open about her love life. It was last year when she came to me and shared that she had a boyfriend, Eddy Kenzo, and they were planning to marry. I had nothing to say other than to support them,” he added.
Nyamutooro and Eddy Kenzo have one child together, a baby boy, whose identity has been kept private from the public.
