With over a million doses donated to Uganda, 864,000 coming from the covax facility, 100,000 from the Indian government and 175,200 doses of AstraZeneca coming from the French government, the ministry of Health has administered 1,157,251 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine.
While speaking to the press in Kampala, Emmanuel Ainebyoona, the senior public relations officer informed that in order to enable those who have completed thier dose to have documentation, the ministry has introduced vaccination certificates.
“An online vaccination certificate portal has been created by the ministry of Health to enable fully registered persons to easily access thier certificates”. He said.
Ainebyoona guided on how the certificate can be obtained through the ministry ministry website.
“The self service e-portal enables an individual to download thier certificates from the system website epivac.health.go.ug/certificates two weeks after receiving thier 2nd doze”. He explained.
He advised those with difficulty accessing the certificate to reach out to the ministry through toll free number 0800100066.
He warned of unscrupulous people who solicit money from unsuspecting people in the name of vaccinating saying that the vaccination proceeds is free and should any one ask for money, one must report them to the ministry of Health or nearest police station.
The Ministry has registered over 70% of revived doses used in the first jab administration with over 27% fully vaccinated.
