Senior presidential advisor on media Joseph Tamale Mirundi has blasted the NRM National Vice Chairperson Al-Hajji Moses Kigongo for endorsing President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for 2026 presidential bid. On Tuesday, Kigongo endorsed Museveni claiming that he has a lot of unfinished business which he has to complete and pleaded with Ugandans to give him the opportunity.
However, Mirundi, a self-claimed media consultant insists that Kigongo endorsed Museveni because he fears that when Museveni leaves power, he will be among the top government officials who are likely to lose government deals and supremacy.
He laughed at Kigongo that he took a decision without calculating Museveni’s political future because he might declare before 2026 that he is not going to stand for presidency and announce another person.
He further narrates that if president Muaseveni dies before 2026, what will Kigongo tell Ugandans.
“You know many people in government especially in State House always deceive President Museveni so that they continue eating taxpayers’ money which Gen. Muhoozi will not allow. Gen. Muhoozi is still sharp and those mafias are panicking,” Mirundi said.
He pinned officers in the Ministry of Health and those in the Prime Minister’s office on manufacturing disasters like deadly diseases and climate disasters so as to benefit from them.
He challenged president Museveni to be a good politician and retire Gen. Muhoozi so that he can compete with him for the NRM ticket in 2026 to allow party members to decide who they want to represent them on the ballot.
He declared that he is going to support Muhoozi because he has done everything for Museveni to retain power but he paid him off by firing him from State House as the presidential press secretary and dumped him to eat with dogs.
He boasted that Gen. Muhoozi promised him that when he takes power, he would appoint him a minister or Vice President so he has to fight tooth and nail to make sure that his dream comes true.
“You want me to die without becoming minister? Museveni dumped me but his son picked me. Do you know why Muhoozi said that the only thing he can pay her mother should be to become president, why did he not say for his father,” he stated.
