Veteran musician, Chance Nalubega, has accused local events promoter Abbey Musinguzi aka Abitex of destroying her name. According to Chance, this all originated from Abitex putting her up for performance on a concert for the Kabaka. The promoter hadn’t asked the Abatesi singer how much she would charge him.
When Chance questioned him, he told her that she would be singing for the Kabaka. And as a loyal subject to Mengo, Nalubega went and performed. Abitex just paid her very little money and this was after running a tantrum about it.
Furthermore, Nalubega said that Abitex and the likes are not promoters but rather destroyers for the way they treat musicians who have strived so hard to build their brands.
“That Abitex has worked so hard to destroy my name that I have worked a lot for. He’s gone ahead on different media stations speaking falsehoods about me. Him and other masqueraders that fall in his category are just destroyers and not promoters. This was all because he put me up to perform for little money at Lubiri in Mengo. As a loyal subject, I accepted because I couldn’t refuse to sing for my Kabaka,” said Nalubega.
The singer who bossed the airwaves in the early 2000s also gave an insight into her early life. She said that she was a violent character who liked fighting a lot.
Chance said that she doesn’t like picking fights but when she does pick one, she’s uncontrollable. And this was her when she was younger but she grew up and is calmer now.
