The mother of songstress Sheebah Karungi, Edith Kabazungu, showed up at Kampala Serena Hotel to support her daughter who held a two-day concert at the Kintu Road-based establishment. Mid-concert she was invited to speak to cheerful revelers who turned up in big numbers to attend the concert dubbed Sheebah Live Concert.
“I greet you, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for supporting my daughter. Thank you so much. May God return the funds you used to pay tickets entrance fees,” said Kabazungu who was wearing a huge smile.
Karungi, after the mother’s appreciation speech, said: “I love my mother, she is everything to me.”
Sheebah Karungi’s concerts at Serena were held on Friday, December 9, and Saturday, December 10.
On Sunday, December 11, she also pulled off another big show at Freedom City.
The other shows will be in Kyotera on December 16, Mbarara on December 17, and she will conclude with Fort Portal on December 18.
A number of musicians, including Winnie Nwagi, Roden Y Kabako, Lydia Jazmine, Chosen Blood, King Saha, Gravity Omutjju, Spice Diana, and Mudra Viral performed at the concert, showing love to the songbird who was holding her first concert since ending her relationship with Team No Sleep manager Jeff Kiwanuka.
Karungi had said she want to pull a two-day indoor concert because she believed her fans wouldn’t get enough space at Victoria Hall, where the concert was held and she wasn’t disappointed.
She was also concerned about outdoor space because she felt the sound would be better in an enclosed space.
