UNEB releases 2020 PLE results. Increase in Performance recorded compared to previous years.

The Uganda National Examination Board has released the PLE 2020 results.

The results were released at StateHouse.

A total of 749,761 candidates had registered with 48.4% in UPE while 31.6% were non UPE and 2,220 results were withheld

An increase in candidature in UPE candidates was recorded from 473893 in 2019 to 513085 in 2020 and 221912 non UPE candidates in 2019 to 236677.

More girls than boys sat for the exams as in the last 5 years. Girls were 52.8% while boys were 47.2%.

The board registered 1599 special needs learners of various categories including the blind and deaf with 53.0% male and less females sitting making their percentage 47.0%.

Absenteeism reduced with a 1.7% compared to 1.8% of the previous years.

Minimum pass level improved although mathematics had a slight drop and social studies remaining the best done subject as in previous years.

Female performed better in English language while boys performed better in the rest of the subjects which are Mathematical, social studies, integrated science and religious studies  with Non UPE pupils performing better than thier UPE counterparts
