The money was deposited on their individual accounts.

Chris Obore the Director Communications at Parliament confirmed that the money was sent on the MPs accounts.

Previously it was said that the MPs were to receive 300 million but due to covid19 The budget was cut short.

In addition to the MPS, the speaker, deputy speaker and four Ex-Officials are also given brand new vehicles.

A debate once surfaced on whether MPs who have been in parliament previously and have also won another term should be given more money to buy vehicles but the MPs reasoned that in 5 years the vehicles are old and they need new ones.

Another contention was on why MPs  who serve as ministers and the speaker and the depity should be given vehicles twice.
