The ministry of Health has registered a total number of 2,575,021 people who have been administered with the covid 19 jab out of atleast 4 million targeted in order for other sectors to reopen.
President Museveni in his address to the public on sector reopening said that atleast all students and teachers must be vaccinated in order to resume school activities.
According to the ministry, of the total administered doses, 1,974,045 have been administered as 1st dose and 600,976 have been administered
as 2nd dose.
“3,021,994 are currently being distributed countrywide”. The ministry said.
Of the 700,000 doses of the Sinovac vaccine donated
by the Chinese, the ministry plans to release 300,000 doses of the newly received consignment as second
dose while the remaining 400,000 doses will be split into two to act as 1st and 2nd dose.
The figers presented by the ministry show significant progress in the fight against covid spread and death.
So far figers as at 19th October reveal only 62 new cases, Confirmed cases being 125,426, 4 new deaths, Total deaths 3,192, New samples 3,386, cumulative samples 1,765,008, Cumulative Recoveries 96,457, Active cases on admission at health facility 298, test Positivity Rate at 1.8% and total doses being 2,688,361
