7 students injured in school bomb attack

seven students were injured in a Somali School in the capital of Mogadishu when a suicide bomber blew himself up near the school.

“Seven pupils were wounded in the explosion near the school,” Yusuf Hussein, the director of Mocaasir school, told the Reuters news agency.

Police earlier said eight people died and 23, including the pupils, were injured in the attack.

The attack was claimed by the al-Shabab militant group.

according to the Aljazeera site, the bomb was targeting a UN convoy.

According to Reuters, a U.N. spokesperson in Mogadishu declined to comment. A staff member speaking on condition of anonymity said no international personnel from the U.N. were hurt but they had no information on whether Somali employees were hurt.
