It is not clear which family members will likely join her at Windsor for Christmas.
Originating from South Africa, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) says the Omicron virus spreads faster than the original SARS-CoV-2 virus.

“We don’t yet know how easily it spreads, the severity of illness it causes, or how well available vaccines and medications work against it”. Said the CDC website.

On 13th December the UK had reported at least 4,713 confirmed cases of the Omicron variant but the number expected by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA)to be round 200,000.

UK citizens have been advised to get booster shots and follow SOPs even when fully vaccinated.
