Govt. sets burial plans for the late governer Mutebile

Government of Uganda has set remedial plans for the burial of the late Emanuel Tumusiime Mutebile the Bank of Uganda Governor.

The late was confirmed dead in a Nairobi hospital, Kenya at about 5:00am E.A.T. on Sunday.

Chris Baryomunsi, the Information minister confirmed this in an interview with a local Television station.

“we have lost our governer who has been sick for some time” he said.

The minister also highlighted some of the activities that will be done ahead of the burial.

“we shall have a vigil at his home in Kololo at his home on Wednesday and on Thursday with confirmation from the leadership of parliament that we shall have a parliamentary session at 10:00am to pay tribute to the departed governor and we shall have an official service in Kololo on Friday and there after the burial will be taken to kabale over the weekend and tentatively we have agreed with the family for the burial to take place on Monday”.

Mutebile held the position of Bank of Uganda Governer since the year 2000 making him the longest serving government official in that position.

Mutebile died at 72 years and he is commended for having held the country economically stable even during the inflation period in 2011.
