Kenyan Politics: Stakes heighten as roots party candidate, Prof. Wajackoyah is rejected to run for Presidency

The Independent Electrical and Boundaries Commission, (IEBC) has denied the Roots Party Presidential aspirant, Professor George Wajackoyah a go ahead due to unfulfillment of required documents.

According to the online Kenyan news agency Nation.Africa, Mr Chebukati, the IEBC Chairperson was quoted “You have complied with all documentation except the supporters’ list. Only 17 counties are compliant. The others have shortfalls. You need a minimum of seven to meet the requirements,”

Mr. Chebukati gave them until 2nd June at 3pm to produce the documents or risk missing in the presidential race

the chairman granted the professor another chance to submit his list of 2000 signatures from at least 24 counties which he had not managed to obtain by the time.

Speaking with courage, Mr Wajackoyah’s running mate Justina Wamae said that they will be able to produce the required documents by the set date.

Kenya is expected to go to the Polls on August 9th 2022
