Museveni builds houses for opposition supporters

The government of Uganda has build at least four houses for the 2020 victims

The houses were handed over by Vice President Jessica Alupo in Katakwi District, eastern Uganda on Sunday 19th 2021

Beneficiaries include families of the late Mark Elobat from Palam Sub-county in Ngariam County and late Teresa Akiror of Apule Village in Kapujan.

Others are Apule Village residents Lucy Apenyo and Charles Otyang who both sustained serious injuries after they were shot at a polling station during the 2021 general elections.

“Government has the capacity to give justice to victims and will work continuously to bring the culprits to book,” she observed.

State house comptroller Ms Jane Barekye lauded President Museveni for fulfilling his pledge of constructing housing units for at least 25 victims of election violence in Teso Sub-region including Sunday’s four beneficiaries.
