Police in Kawempe Division have arrested a woman who is accused of being a serial robber in the Division using sedatives to get her victims. She rubs the sedatives on her nipples or puts them in their drinks. Her luck ran out when she robbed an allegedly high-profile man.
The suspect, Lydia Nakayizi Asiimwe, alias Hope Kalungi was arrested after months of allegedly drugging men and robbing them around bars in Kawempe. Her latest victim, whose name has been withheld, told police that she drugged him at Queen’s bar in Mpererwe, carried him to the car, and drove to a lodge. She proceeded to rob him of millions.
“This victim told us that this suspect drugged him and then carried him into her car up to the lodge where she stripped and robbed him. He claims his three million Shillings was stolen, ATM cards pin codes were cracked and they withdrew 10 million Shillings,” Fred Enanga said as he confirmed the incident.
Kawempe police had launched a manhunt for Nakayizi two months prior to her arrest after receiving complaints from her victims including security officials. Her arrest was conducted after police reviewed footage of her from Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras.
She had been on police radar for months with numerous complaints against her at Kawempe police station, Mpererwe police, Kazo Angola police, among others.
‘An funny encounter’
Notably, in August, a female Superintendent of Police could not contain her laughter as she recorded a statement from a soldier at the rank of Lieutenant accusing Nakayizi of stealing his valuables.
“So, you have also fallen victim to her spiking breasts? I knew you would tell me funny stories yet I know the woman you are talking about. You are not the first to be robbed by this woman. But what’s unique about her breasts, why are you men falling into her tricks,” the officer teased her army colleague.
The Lieutenant admitted that he had indeed fallen prey to her looks and agreed to extend their evening. Hours later he regained consciousness and had lost his possessions.
“We sat in my car but I regained consciousness when I was alone and everything on me had been taken. Kindly help me get this woman. I have collected CCTV footage from the bar and I can ably identify her if she is arrested,” the Lieutenant revealed.
Enanga has warned men and the public to be vigilant with strangers at bars because they are full of people targeting women to rape them and those eyeing money-loaded party goers. A similar activity was common three years ago on Salama road in Makindye, Katwe, and Kibuye.
