Popular TV host and MC Edwin Katamba aka MC Kats has finally revealed why he publicly told his HIV status. About 3 years ago, Kats while at a popular hangout spot revealed that he was HIV positive.
The NBS After 5 co-presenter said that for 9 years, he had been taking his ARVs. However, time came when he got tired of living in denial and hiding and decided to reveal it publicly to free himself.
“I have been sick and taking my ARVs for 9 years. When I revealed my status, I was simply tired of hiding, I wanted people to know my story,” he said
Since then, he’s become a key figure in fighting the disease bu starting up a foundation known as
Mc Kats Foundation.
This is also aimed at empowering people living with HIV/AIDS and also sensitize those that lack knowledge of living a positive life.
