Tanzanian Airplane Crash Survivor Narrates How Crew Saved Their Lives: “Helped Us open Emergency Exit”

The Precision Air flight crashed into the lake on the morning of Sunday, November 6, leaving 19 dead and many others injured.

According to the Citizen, the survivor of the plane crash Richard Komba said they left Dar es Salaam at 6.15 in the morning. Upon reaching Bukoba, the pilot announced the weather was not conducive as it was raining heavily.

The survivor said the water from the lake started spilling into the ill-fated plane, but lucky for him, he was at the back of the aircraft, and a crew member opened the emergency exit allowing him to escape death by a whisker.

According to reports, the aircraft was destined for Bukoba Airport in Northwestern Tanzania from Julius Nyerere Airport in Dar es Salaam when it crash-landed on descent.

In the wake of the accident, Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu sent her condolences to the bereaved while asking the citizens to remain calm.
