Uganda Police officers from Kibiri and Katwe have this morning stormed One Love Beach – Busabala, a beach that belongs to Bobi Wine real name, Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu – the National Unity Platform (NUP) president.
The police stormed the beach at around 10 am this morning which attracted the attention of neighbors and by-passers. They spent a considerable time checking the boundaries. ASP Elina Mutoni who heads Kibiri Police post revealed that they responded to a call from one, Kintu Nyago who claims that Bobi Wine exceeded his boundaries and encroached on his land.
Nyago was showing the police boundaries which he claims Bobi Wine violated and ended up fencing his land in the process. Since Bobi Wine bought land in Busabala, he has been at loggerheads with different people. At first, the person who sold him the land wanted to reclaim it on the excuse that Bobi Wine never cleared his balance.
Fortunately, the Ghetto Gladiator paid him off. In 2017, Bobi Wine woke up in shock after Nkuluze – an organ of Buganda Kingdom, hired a tractor and razed the entry of his beach to the ground.
Bobi Wine deposited 20m with Nkuluze in December 2011 to support his application to occupy 0.5 acres of land adjacent to his One Love beach.
Buganda Land Board rejected the application on November 17, 2014 because the land lord intended to use the land for different purposes. Bobi was warned against carrying out any activities beyond the confines of One Love Beach but kept a deaf ear.
The Kingdom revealed that Bobi Wine had encroached on an additional 1.5 acres of Kabaka’s land which he used as a parking lot for his One Love Beach.
In April 2017, Bobi Wine lost the land to Nkuluze.
