In a tragic turn of events, Daniel Bbosa, esteemed head of a Buganda clan and director of Transa Electrical, fell victim to a fatal shooting on Sunday evening as he returned home. The confirmation of his killing by the police has sent shockwaves through the community.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, deputy spokesperson for the Kampala Metropolitan police, the assailants targeted Bbosa as he neared his residence in Kikandwa Zone, Lungujja Parish, Lubaga Division, around 6 pm. Riding on a motorcycle, they unleashed a barrage of gunfire at his vehicle, bearing registration number UAH 637X, resulting in his tragic demise.
Amidst the chaos, a courageous local resident intervened, bravely confronting the assailants and managing to knock down their motorcycle. This act of bravery not only thwarted the assailants’ escape but also alerted the community to the unfolding tragedy.
Swiftly, community members mobilized, confronting the assailants in a tense standoff. In the ensuing confrontation, one assailant died at the hands of the mob, while the other remains in critical condition.
While the motive behind the killing remains shrouded in mystery, Owoyesigyire assured the public that investigations are underway to apprehend the remaining assailants and uncover the truth behind this heinous act.
Furthermore, the police have made significant strides in their investigation, recovering the firearm allegedly used in the murder along with the motorcycle, registered under number UEX 754E, utilized by the assailants during the attack.
