In a heartbreaking turn of events, Ms. Ninshaba Ritah, a determined woman who left Uganda for Saudi Arabia in August 2022 to work as a maid, has tragically passed away.
Two weeks ago, Ritah fell seriously ill from Kitolosi, and despite her efforts to recover, she succumbed to the illness four days ago.
The circumstances surrounding Ritah’s journey are shrouded in mystery. She never informed her family about her plans to travel, leaving them in the dark about the company that facilitated her move to Saudi Arabia. This lack of information has compounded the family’s grief and made it difficult to trace her steps and seek support.
The financial burden of repatriating Ritah’s body to Uganda is immense. The cost is estimated at 16 million UGX, a sum her humble relatives simply cannot afford. This situation has added another layer of sorrow to their already overwhelming loss.
