Singer and politician Geoffrey Lutaaya has strongly denied rumors of a romantic relationship with media personality Faridah Nakazibwe. Lutaaya, who serves as the Member of Parliament for Kakuuto County and is married to fellow singer Irene Namatovu, has called for an immediate end to these rumors, which have been widely circulated on social media, particularly on TikTok.
For over a week, speculations about an alleged affair between Lutaaya and Nakazibwe have been gaining traction online, leading to a wave of debates and concerned inquiries from the public.
Initially dismissing the rumors as baseless content created by TikTok users, Lutaaya has since expressed frustration as the gossip continued to spread.
In response to the escalating chatter, Lutaaya released a video statement addressing the issue. He urged those responsible for spreading the rumors to stop immediately, emphasizing that the unfounded talk is damaging the reputations of everyone involved, including his wife, Irene Namatovu.
“Some people have been spreading rumors, adding my photos with Faridah Nakazibwe’s. Initially, we thought it was just simple talk from TikTokers, and we ignored it, but it has now gone beyond that. It has even created debates,” Lutaaya said in the video.
He continued, “Let’s stop joking, please. You’re talking about two respectable people with families. We are being called by different people who may not understand that you are just joking.”
Lutaaya warned that if the rumors persist, he would not hesitate to take further action to protect his and Nakazibwe’s reputations.
“We kindly ask that you desist from this talk because I am a brand, Nakazibwe is a brand, and Irene (Namatovu) is a brand. So if you now make this a big deal, I won’t just look on. If it goes beyond that, I will respond in a very harsh way. Please stay away from this cheap talk,” he concluded.
Lutaaya’s statement serves as a clear warning to those perpetuating the rumors, highlighting the potential consequences of spreading misinformation about public figures.
