According to Kiyinji, the automated machine will ease work for medical doctors and also cut on expenses of purchase of drugs.

“Government through Ministry of health approved deployment of the system as
a means to increase efficiency in public hospitals and health centres, making it
possible for government to cut unnecessary health expenditures”. He said

” It on the other hand saves the hospital
administration from under requesting for medicine as the system automatically
sends an alert based on the previous requests and usage” he added.

The two groups-one already in the field comprises of ‘Change and Deployment
that majorly installs, operationalizes, and maintains the system and the other
is the ‘Infrastructure team’, which is responsible for putting up hardware and
connection of necessary equipment for the seamless installation.

The system is expected to make hospitals “paperless” as patient records will be kept on computers hence easing administration time and also saving patients possible loss of physical records.

The system has since been deployed in ten (10) regional hospitals which are; Moroto, Soroti, Gulu, Hoima, FortPortal, Mbarara, Kabale, Masaka, and
Naguru China-Uganda Friendship Hospital.
