The Ugandan Minister of Education, Janet Museveni is expected to hold a press briefing on Friday to address several areas of public interest in the education sector.
The Education Ministry Spokesperson Dennis Mugimba said on his Twitter handle that the minister will hold a press briefing on Friday 1st October 2021at 4:00pm to address several areas of public interest.
The public came out negatively asking why the president eased some sectors but not schools.
The ministers husband also president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, in his speech to the public mid this month emphasised the need to first vaccinate the 15 million students and over 300,000 teachers before schools can reopen.
Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Opposition party Spokesperson Ssemuju Nganda in a press conference on Monday said janet should be given a lighter position to hold in government for the current t one is to big for her to handle.
“The country needs a full-time Minister who is ready to be in the field identifying problems and suggesting solutions”. He said.
Minister of Information Chris Baryomunsi however insisted that the president was right and schools do not need to be rushed.
Janet Museveni will be expected to address all these issues in her Friday address.
