Uganda will on its independence day, 9th October 2021 pay tribute to the heros who sacrificed alot in pushing an end to the colonial rule in the country.
Honourable Peter Ogwan, Minister of State in charge of economic monitoring / standing in for the Honourable minister in charge of the presidency while addressing the media in Kampala on Wednesday this week said that a few invites guest will be called at Kololo on independence to celebrate and also remember “this great day”.
About 600 invited guest are expected to be at the event in Kololo which will be aired live on major local stations.
Uganda National Congress was Uganda’s first political party established toward the struggle for the country’s independence with its founding fathers notable of whom were Ignatius Kangave Musaazi, the party’s founding president general, Abubakar Kakyama Mayanja, the founding secretary and representatives from Bugisu, Teso, Lango and Tooro.
