According to videos shared on TikTok, the Katikkiro praised Nwagi’s music and her dancing skills. He also gave the impression that he is not among people that sneer at the songbird for wearing skimpy clothes in public.
“Katikkiro has shown me that he likes my music, so he is also my fan… my fans have no problem with it [my dress code],” Nwagi said in a video seen by this reporter. “I feel good [that he likes my music], because I believe in myself, you can’t say I don’t sing well, but it sounds good coming from him.”
On Mayiga saying she is the best female dancer, the Matala hitmaker said: “Everyone has who is best for them, it seems I’m the one for him… I told him there are those who like you and those that don’t… it makes me happy to know that he enjoys my music. That’s special.”
In one of the videos, the Fire Dancer singer is seen kneeling before the Katikkiro who appears to be passing on information to her. Nwagi said it was not the first time he was talking to him.
“I can’t say it’s the first time, I had seen him before, as a commoner before he became a prime minister… but meeting him as a prime minister, it’s the first time,” she said.Despite her rebellious nature, Nwagi is among a few artistes whose music resonates with people in arguably all age groups.
