Valley University of Science and Technology in Bushenyi is mourning the death of Suzan Kyatuhire, a third-year student who was raped and later killed on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, a few minutes after celebrating her 24th birthday.
According to a friend who declined to reveal her identity, the deceased was raped as she was reaching her residence in the night, and later the perpetrators murdered her.
Police in the region confirmed the incident and investigations are going on to have the culprits hunted down.
This is not the first time such incidents to happen, last month a Makerere University netballer, Jackeline Nakabembe was allegedly raped, killed and her body dumped in a trench at Naguru in Kampala.
Kyatuhire hails from Murisa village in Ntungamo district.
