The family of Kampala Woman Member of Parliament (MP) Shamim Malende has clashed with her boyfriend on who to take care of her in the Kenyan hospital where she was rushed on Saturday. Early this week, Malende was rushed to Uganda Martyr’s Hospital Lubaga after being attacked by a strange disease.
On Thursday, her family members led by a one Ali Kyanjo agreed with the hospital administration to refer Malende to Kenya. Unfortunately, he claims the boyfriend, a one Shamil Ssebunya started frustrating these efforts.
“We were the ones who convinced the hospital to refer Malende to Kenya but why did that boyfriend of his start giving orders concerning the number of people? He even selected his friends only to go with my sister,” a furious Kyanjo said.
He added that from the day Ssebunya entered Malende’s life, he has been playing on her intelligence so that she disassociates herself from her family members even though he is not yet officially married to her.
He claims that out of the 6 people who had to move with Malende, 5 were selected by the boyfriend and they are all men.
However, when contacted, before he departed with his girlfriend, Ssebunya clarified that there is no bad blood between him and his girlfriend’s family. He however divulged that they just disagreed on strategies they must use to save Malende’s life.
