Museveni gives solution to high fuel prices and inflation in the country

The president to Uganda has given citizens a solution to the question of high inflation and fuel prices.

Speaking to a government media station at State house, Museveni said that it would be better for citizens to engage in Agriculture in order for the country to make more exports.

Museveni further noted that the high fuel prices that came as a result of Russia-Ukraine war, was political but not economical.

“The inflation is as a result of two factors that is price of fuel and low agricultural production. The hike in fuel prices was due to politics because Europeans wanted to punish Russians”. He said.

The president encouraged people to engage in Agriculture and promised to assist them monetarily by adding money in the Uganda Development Bank (UDB) so that farmers can access low interest loans.

“Where we can’t go wrong is irrigation our agriculture…I think one of the interventions if it was necessary was to subsides Fertilizers. We have not yet done it but I am watching it”. He said

“We must put more money in UDB at an interest of 12% or less. What I cannot support is loans for imports because those can go to commercial banks”.
