The state Minister for Animal industries, Bright Rwamirama has directed security agencies to arrest all those who transport animals for slaughter in urban areas at night.
Rwamirama said that those who will be allowed to transport livestock would be issued with a license to prove that they have been authorized after meeting the required standards.
The minister adds that this will also help to prevent spread of diseases since some people transport sick animals, which in turn spreads to the new areas hence affecting animals there.
The move comes as people prepare for Christmas which is less than five days from now and its in this period that many people transport animals from the rural areas to urban areas for slaughter
