DP youth wing blames police on rampant road accidents during festive season

The Democratic Party youth wing Uganda Young Democrats (UYD) has blames Uganda police over the rampant road accidents that occurred during the festive season leading to ushering the New Year 2023

This comes after police revealed on Monday that 35 people had died and 114 injured in just three days from 28 crashes.

According to the traffic police spokesperson, Farida Nampiima, 104 road accident were registered between December 30th and January 1st, 15 dying during the festive season while over 200 were injured due to reckless driving.

The UYD President Kiria blamed the accidents on the bad states of roads in the country and asked the Government to provide adequate funding for road maintenance and putting up road signs on all major high ways.
