For over a year, Sipapa has found himself behind bars, facing a slew of charges, including money laundering and fraud, among other offenses. Despite numerous court appearances, it appears that the authorities are steadfast in their reluctance to grant him bail.
In the midst of this complex legal quagmire, an unusual plea has reached the ears of President Yoweri Museveni. The plea comes from none other than Serena Bata, Sipapa’s former girlfriend.
In a heartfelt request, she implores the President to wield his influence to secure Sipapa’s release. Serena invokes their shared history and fervently appeals to Museveni to intervene on Sipapa’s behalf.
Serena’s plea is simple yet impassioned: “Please come forward and save Sipapa,” she beseeches the President. She underscores the substantial support that Sipapa has extended to him over the years. Serena also highlights Sipapa’s affiliation with the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
Sipapa’s legal woes date back to September 2022 when he was apprehended in connection with allegations related to a heist involving 1.6 billion Shillings.
The circumstances surrounding his continued detention remain a contentious issue, with his former girlfriend now seeking presidential intervention.
