The Kawempe North Member of Parliament, Muhammed Ssegirinya has passed on this morning after spending months in medical care.
commonly known as Mr. Update, the legislature has been nursing wounds since August 2023 after his arrest on alleged charges of murder and attempted murder. He passed on at about 8:00AM on 9th January 2025 at Lubaga hospital.
Formerly known as “Ssegirinya eddobozi lye Kyebando” loosely translated as Sssegirinya the voice of Kyebando, he was known for being vocal on what hurts the ordinary Ugandan
in 2011, the deceased started his political career vying for the MP seat which he lost on a number of occasions but won the councilor seat for Kampala North. He later contested for MP seat in 2021under the NUP ticket and won.
By press time, the Leader of Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi had taken a visit to the hospital to asses the situation and meet the family to discuss the burial arrangements.
