In a recent incident brought to light at the Kanyanya Police Station on February 3rd, 2024, Ms. Namasere Winnie, a 25-year-old resident of Kyebando Central Zone, voiced her distress over the disappearance of household items, reportedly taken without consent by her boyfriend, Mr. Lukyamuzi Timothy, aged 26.
Ms. Winnie shared her narrative, explaining that she had temporarily left their shared abode in February 2024 due to domestic discord, seeking solace at her sister’s residence, Nakasita Evelyn, situated in Namavundu Gayaza, Wakiso District.
On February 3rd, 2024, around 1 PM, Ms. Winnie received a troubling call from Mr. Timothy. He informed her that he had relocated their possessions to an undisclosed location following an eviction notice from their landlord. Despite her repeated attempts to reach him, Mr. Timothy remained unresponsive.
Consequently, Ms. Winnie decided to escalate the matter to the authorities, alleging domestic violence and theft.
In response to the complaint, Mr. Timothy voluntarily presented himself to the police and provided his statement, vehemently denying any involvement in theft.
He clarified that he had moved the belongings to his sister’s workplace for safekeeping while he actively searched for alternative housing.
With Mr. Timothy’s cooperation, the police successfully retrieved the missing items from his sister’s workplace, ultimately resolving the dispute.
