The Central Police Station (CPS) in Kampala has confirmed the arrest of Nsubuga Denis on charges of cyberstalking and distributing pornographic material falsely associated with TikTok personality Doreen Nalunga, widely known as “Milk Bae.”
The arrest follows allegations that Nsubuga obtained and circulated an old private video of an unidentified person, falsely claiming it was Nalunga.
The situation escalated when Ms. Nalunga reported to CPS Kampala that a private video, purportedly of her, was being shared across various social media platforms.
The video, allegedly spread by Nsubuga, went viral, leading to public criticism of Milk Bae for allegedly disrespecting herself. Prompted by this, the police swiftly launched an investigation into the matter.
During their investigation, CPS Kampala was able to trace and apprehend Nsubuga Denis. He is currently detained at the station, where he is being interrogated about his involvement in the distribution of the video.
Police have recorded statements from Ms. Nalunga and other relevant witnesses who have played a crucial role in the investigation. Witnesses confirmed to the police that the videos circulated by Nsubuga do not feature Milk Bae but rather another individual who remains unidentified.
The police have made it clear that the videos circulating on social media are NOT of Milk Bae, urging the public to disregard any such claims.
SSP P. Onyango of CPS Kampala expressed concern over the increasing trend of individuals misusing social media platforms to distribute false and harmful content.
He appealed to the public to exercise caution and verify information before sharing it online to prevent the spread of misinformation and protect individuals’ privacy and reputations.
“We want to appeal to members of the public to be careful about what they post on social media. They should cross-check any information before posting; otherwise, the law will catch up with you,” SSP Onyango stated.
