In a shocking incident, Phiona Nyamutoro, Minister of State for Minerals in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development and mother to singer Eddy Kenzo’s child, narrowly escaped being shot dead.
Reports indicate that Minister Nyamutoro was in Kisoro District to fulfill her ministerial duties when a confrontation occurred. A Private Security Guard from National Cement Co., a subsidiary of the Devki Group, attempted to shoot her.
The altercation reportedly stemmed from Minister Nyamutoro’s efforts to halt illegal mining activities in Kisoro District. The situation escalated, resulting in the security guard’s failed attempt on her life.
A video obtained by this website shows the assailant and his associates being apprehended by authorities, who also confiscated their firearms.
