House of Prayer International Ministries lead pastor, Aloysius Bugingo, and his wife, Susan Makula, have shut down recent breakup rumors.
Over the past few weeks, speculation has surrounded the couple’s controversial marriage, with rumors claiming that Bugingo and Makula had separated. Allegedly, the pastor had left his wife alone in their multi-million mansion in Namayumba and was living with a young Rwandan woman elsewhere.
The rumors suggested that Makula had refused to get pregnant for the pastor, leading him to elope. Critics and detractors of the pastor celebrated and further fueled these rumors.
However, Pastor Aloysius Bugingo swiftly addressed the gossip by appearing with his wife during yesterday’s church sermon. In a clear message to their doubters, the couple held hands and danced together. Bugingo even serenaded Makula with Iryn Namubiru’s song “Nkuweki,” much to the delight of the congregation.
The couple’s marriage has often been mired in controversy, particularly due to how their relationship began. Makula worked at Bugingo’s company, Salt Media, while he was still married to his first wife, Teddy Naluswa, the mother of his children. Despite starting their relationship secretly, they eventually went public.
Pastor Bugingo did not shy away from criticizing his first wife, claiming he had felt like a prisoner in his own home and could no longer endure it.
