Rwandan Gospel Star Israel Mbonyi to Perform in Kampala and Mbarara on August 23rd and 25th Following Electrifying Shows in Kenya

Rwandan gospel sensation Israel Mbonyi is set to bring his powerful performances to Uganda with live concerts scheduled in Kampala and Mbarara. Fans are eagerly anticipating these much-awaited events, which will take place on August 23 at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala and August 25 at Mbarara University Inn Grounds.

Tickets are priced at 30,000 UGX for general admission, 50,000 UGX for VIP, with tables available at 1 million UGX and 3 million UGX. These shows mark a significant milestone in Mbonyi’s illustrious career, as he continues to spread his message of hope and faith through his powerful performances.

Earlier this year, Israel Mbonyi celebrated a decade since releasing his debut song. Over the past ten years, he has established himself as a leading gospel artist, influencing the gospel music scene in Rwanda and beyond.

Born Israel Mbonyicyambu, he developed a passion for music early in life. Growing up in Musanze, Ruhangeri City, Rwanda, he received musical training from a local teacher.

Out of a class of 30 students, Mbonyi was the only one who completed the course, mastering the guitar and laying the foundation for his future musical career.

Mbonyi’s first song, “Number One,” was released on March 10, 2014, coinciding with the launch of his debut album of the same name. The album featured eight tracks, including “Yankuyeho Urubanza,” “Ku Migezi,” “Nzibyo Nibwira,” “Ku Musaraba,” “Ndanyuzwe,” “Hari Impamvu,” and “Agasambi.”

Sung primarily in Kinyarwanda, these songs resonated deeply with listeners, establishing Mbonyi as a significant figure in gospel music.

In 2023, Israel Mbonyi expanded his musical reach by releasing his first Swahili song, “Nina Siri,” on June 26. This hit single introduced him to a broader East African audience, particularly in Tanzania and Kenya, marking his entry into the regional and international music scene. The song’s success propelled Mbonyi to new heights, earning him widespread acclaim and a growing fan base.
