Prof. Lawrence Muganga has appealed to University Librarians to harness the use of AI and Machine learning in order to improve on the service delivery.
While speaking to the members of the consortium of Uganda University libraries, a body that ensures resource sharing among University and Institutional libraries in Uganda, Prof. Muganga advised the librarians in Uganda to embrace AI and Machine learning to improve service delivery and ensure that users can access resources from wherever they are, without the need to visit the libraries physically.
AI has very many ways it can assist in libraries such as streamlining library workflow, improving interactivity with the library visitors, provides librarians with ability to practice critical thinking skills and help in curriculum updates among other uses
