Just hours after the shocking incident in Bulindo, where he was allegedly shot, Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has spoken out, confirming that he was indeed shot in the leg. The National Unity Platform (NUP) leader did not mince words, condemning what he believes was a direct attempt on his life by the government.
In a statement, Bobi Wine recounted the harrowing moment when police and military personnel allegedly surrounded his convoy and opened fire without hesitation.
He claims that the attack was led by a commander identified as Twesigye, and that live bullets, teargas canisters, and other projectiles were fired at his entourage. “Our President #BobiWine, who was clearly targeted, was shot in the leg,” the statement read, underscoring the seriousness of the situation.
Bobi Wine reassured his followers that he is currently receiving medical treatment. In true Bobi Wine fashion, he attached photos of himself in the hospital, symbolizing resilience and defiance even in the face of such adversity.
In the same post, Bobi Wine did not hold back on his criticism of the regime, accusing President Museveniās government of orchestrating yet another attempt on his life.
As this story continues to develop, Uganda watches closely, with many wondering what will come next in the political saga of Bobi Wine vs. the Museveni regime.
