UNEB sets examination time table, gives one off chance to repeaters

The Uganda National Examinations Board has released the 2024 time table for candidated who will be sitting for thier Primary Leaving Exams (PLE), Uganda Certificate Exams (UCE) and the Uganda Advanced Certificate exams (UACE)

While addressing the media on Monday morning at the Uganda Media Center offices in Kampala, the Executive Director (ED) of the Board, Dan N. Odongo noted that unlike previously where candidates sat for three sets of examinations, UNEB will this time
round conduct Four Examinations that is, the UCE Examination based on the New Lower Secondary Curriculum (NLSC) and the UCE (transitional examination), based on the old curriculum.

Uce Exams

The ED explained that the transitional examination was to give an opportunity to those that needed to repeat or those that missed the examination in 2023 for various reasons. “This is a one –off examination under the old curriculum”. He said.

The other examinations to be sat are the PLE and the UACE

The UCE – New Lower Secondary Curriculum (NLSC) is slated for Friday 11th October to Friday 8th November,
2024, the UCE – Transitional Examination based on the Old Curriculum will start on Friday 11th October to Friday 15th November, the PLE will start on Monday 4th November to Thursday 7th November and the UACE exams will start on Friday 8th November to Friday 6th December 2024.

This year’s theme will be ‘Embracing security and holistic assessment of learners in a dynamic environment’.
