French hospital health worker goes on hunger strike over state imposed mandatory vaccination.

Thierry said that the government rule will suspend all healthcare workers if they are not vaccinated against covid.

The fire safety officer with the public hospital system in Nice, Southern France, pitched a tent in front of the Abbey of saint pons with a placard reading “Hunger Strike” in large letters”.

About 3000 workers in the health and care sectors have been suspended in France for failing to get vaccinated against covid before the government deadline, the health minister Olivier Veran announced on Thursday.

The new rules took effect on Wednesday as part of a drive by the French government to boost vaccination rates and prevent a new covid flare up.

Public officials said that most health workers have complied although a small percentage has refused to take the vaccine.
