African Union suspends Sudan activities over coup

The African Union has said that it has suspended Sudan activities after the military overthrew the civilian led transitional government.

On Wednesday, the African Union political affairs peace and security tweeted the shoking news.

In a communique, the Union said that the suspension would last until the effective restoration of the transitional authority steering the country toward elections.

Doctors and other workers have also joined in protesting the power grab. The doctors said they would not treat anyone until power is back in civilian hands.

On Monday soldiers seized Prime Minitser Abdala Hamdock and briefly detained him but releasing him later on Tuesday escorting him to h8s house under tight security.

In 2019, Omar Al Bashir was removed from his long term rule in Sudan replacing him with a transition government.
