Victoria University boasts of advanced technology in Education as it Graduates over 280 students on it’s 6th Graduation

Victoria University is one of the few Universities in Uganda using digital solutions to provide an education not only to the people of Uganda but East Africa and overseas.

On its massive 6th Graduation ceremony held at speke resort Munyonyo that saw 289 students graduating in various deciplines, the Vice Chancelllor in his speech to the State Minister for higher Education, J.C. Muyingo, the Guest of Honor representing the first lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataha Museveni, he emphasized on using Digital technology to create a “future ready workforce”.
“in our midst we have a functioning hub that is geared towards incubating solutions, solving problems for this country where students come with their ideas and then work hard to bringing them to life” he said.
“We make an emphatic call for education data to become a public good. Such a prospect will give students and the country a competitive edge”. He added.
Dr. Muganga also appreciated partners that have worked with the University in ensuring that students get the most out of their stay at Victoria University such as offering placements and also ensuring that students have laptops to boost their research and also enable them “to carry out learning on a daily basis”.
The commencement speaker invited to address the graduates, Mr. Peter Clote who congratulated the graduates upon their hard work achievements advised them to use their skills and knowledge obtained to solve African problems saying that he is confident that all the students by their education and training will assist the African continent in overcoming the obstacles.

The journalist appealed to fellow journalists to take public affairs reporting serious and aiming at improving society but not tarnishing persons or places. “The journalist in his or her training should help citizens understand the issues affecting their country”. He said
“You have acquired great knowledge here and I join the leadership of Victoria University to say that we expect something grate from you to uplift Uganda and by extension, to Africa”. He said as he concluded his lecture to the students.
Prof. Dr. John Opuda, the Chancellor of the University said that the graduation marks the beginning of an opportunity for students to belong and become independent.
“All your parents are looking forward to seeing you become more independent and to belong somewhere. Your qualification that you have attained, on the other hand, will now act as a key to open some doors towards personal success”. He said.
Prof. Opuda commended the proprietors of the institution in choosing to use their funds for human resource development and appealed to those held to oversee the management of the institution to carry the dream forward.
