Government to closely monitor casual labourers for covid19 to those intending to go to the middle east for 24 hours before departure

The Ministry of health (MoH) spokesperson Emmanuel Ainebyona has said that the ministry has set up an area where analysing of information for those who have tested for covid 19 will be done from.  This comes as a result of receiving information from the Arab counties that the people from uganda test positive in those countries although results obtained from uganda show otherwise.

Ainebyona said that this may have been cause by people having forged documents to help them get through and hoped that the system they have put in place will help solve the problem.

“The place is to help us get samples from those looking for work”. He explained.

” We started this after getting information from Middle East saying that the people arriving from uganda test positive.  We have decided all those planning to go ro those countries looking for work should be monitored for 24 hours before leaving uganda”. He added.

Uganda had been denied entry from other countries in june due to the second wave of covid 19 that left many people getting infected by the virus.
