Manchester United looking forward to improve their home formHaving come from the championship league on Wednesday night with a win thanks to the late winning goal from CR7 against Villarreal,Manchester United will resume their premier league campaign at home to Everton on Saturday’s early kick-off at 14:30 EAT
According to the Epl table United seat in the 4th a point behind leaders Liverpool, Rafael Benitez’s Everton seat in the 5th place level on points with their opponents.
As of Sports mole, Manchester United have a tough October and November in terms of the strength of their opposition and a win on Saturday would bost their confidence ahead of the difficult period after the international break, but a consecutive loss at Old Trafford would lead to questions surrounding Solskjaer’s future at the club.
United got the better part of Everton in their pre season match at Old Trafford before the start of this season which they won by four goals.
Benitez’s 1st season in charge of the Toffees has seen some excellent results which sees them level on points with the likes of Manchester city, Chelsea, Manchester United and Brighton with 13 points in their six opening league games
As of Sports mole, Everton have not won at Old Trafford in all competitions since December 2013. But we have seen the last three of the five encounters in the premier league ending in a draw, meanwhile United have not beaten Everton at Old Trafford in the premier league since October 2018.
Team News
United will go on without the likes of Diallo,Rashford who are still nursing their injuries while their captain Maguire is expected to return after the international break.
Luke Shaw is expected to feature in today’s encounter having missed Wednesday night’s game against Villarreal due to a slight muscular issue, on another hand Wan-Bissaka is available with his red card against Young Boys only affecting his presence in the European games
Lindelof is to keep hid place in the line-up and we expect to see Fred in the midfield while Sancho might be dropped to the bench in another premier league game.
Cavani is also available for selection but we still think Solskjaer is not considering starting him in front of Ronaldo
On the side of Everton Pickford is expected to come back in the middle of the sticks, for the likes Seamus Coleman, Andre Gomes, Richarlison,Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Fabian Delph are still absent
Alex Iwobi still a doubt but on Friday’s press conference Benitez said that Iwobi could still be available for this game.
The good performance from Gray and Townsend have helped the club to seat at the position they are currently in, and we also expect Solomon Rondon to continue featuring as their no.9
Manchester United expected X1
De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Varane, Shaw, Matic, Fred, Greenwood, Fernandes, Pogba, Ronaldo
Everton expected X1
Picford, Godfrey, Mina, Keane, Digne, Townsend, Doucoure, Allan, Iwobi,Gray, Rondon
My prediction
Manchester United 2-1 Everton
Despite Everton having many injuries but United have shown us that it’s hard for them to keep a clean sheet this season even when facing teams with less front fire power compared to that off Everton, that’s why I see it hard for the Toffees to leave the pitch without a goal.
