The Nakawa West Member of Parliament who also doubles as the Chairperson of the Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE), Joel Ssenyonyi, has accused the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, for going behind his back in a move that would see him get censured.
Ssenyonyi made the revelation today morning in a tweet that has since got a lot of attention from the public.
“I am told Speaker Anita Among called some of my committee members to her office and asked them to start a censure motion against me for indiscipline and disobeying her orders,” he tweeted, adding, “during the Uganda Airlines inquiry, she wrote to me a letter “guiding” me to lock the media out.”
His revelation comes at the background of Among’s criticism of the Committee saying it had under performed.
According to Among, out of the 111 reports that were supposed to be produced by COSASE, only 5 were presented before the House making it the worst performing Committee.
“When you compare only 9 reports in 5 years to our 5 reports in in one year, then you know who is lazy. By the way Among led that Committee for like 3 years,” he responded.
Among directed that all the remaining reports will be adopted by the House meaning COSASE will have no business until new reports from the auditor general are presented.
