Media personality Prim Asiimwe loves to banter. On Friday, musician Rickman Manrick offered an opportunity and she latched onto it.
Manrick tweeted: “When my niece calls me uncle in her baby voice my heart melts. 🥰” “Now imagine someone calling you Daddy. 🚶♀️ 🚶♀️” Asiimwe responded, leaving tweeps guessing whether she meant daddy, as in, coming from a child’s mouth, or a woman’s.
Manrick replied to her comment: “Ehhh my Lord my heart will just disappear 🫠 naye nga inshallah.”
Most tweeps seemed to think that she is positioning herself.
Manrick, real name Derrick Ddungu, is currently dating Sheilah Gashumba though he has said he hasn’t thought about marrying her.
He said in a recent interview: “No… I wouldn’t call it a mentality but I have traveled and I’m exposed to different cultures, and this rushing of, you know, getting married, and having kids when you are not ready; I’m not ready to marry someone’s daughter or have kids. I’ve been in Uganda… and I’ve seen what my family went through, and I wouldn’t want my child to be in that position, if I’m not ready, say financially… the things I want for my child, I’ve not gotten them yet.”
He added: “I would want my child maybe to be in the Arsenal [Football Club] academy. I don’t have that yet. I haven’t yet gotten to that level. And we are still working. So, we have goals and ambitions.”
The option of marriage was made even harder, after Sheilah’s dad, Frank Gashumba, was recently heard saying he doesn’t approve of Manrick.
