Suspect asks court for 50 million to prove his innocence

A key suspect in the Nagirinya murder case has asked court for 50 million shillings to prove his innocence.

Copriyam Kasolo, the key suspect while appearing in court said that the money requested for will help him summon witnesses whom he last saw after he was arrested.

“My Lord I request that court gets me shs50 million so as to put advertisements in the media to be able to summon my witnesses,” Kasolo asked court on Monday.

Kasolo defended his request saying that he would use the money to advertise on different social media accounts, Televison, Radio and Newspaper media.

“I will need shs20 million to place adverts on NTV, TV West, Salt TV, Spark TV; shs10 million for adverts on Bukedde FM, CBS FM, Kaboozi FM, Radio one, Sanyu FM, Beat FM and Super FM”. He said.

He also noted that he needs to place adverts on social media platforms including Facebook, Whats App, Tik Tok and Instagram as well as adverts in the New Vision, Observer, Good news, Daily Monitor, Orumuri and Bwino newspapers.

Justice Isaac Muwata set May, 16, 2023 as the date  to deliver his ruling on the matter.
